家长篇
这次是第二次到A2G Music Centre Pte Ltd办MPA。两次的比较，有一个相同的地方，就是家长出席是蛮踊跃的。这样的情况是非常有鼓励性，也是我们举办MPA其中一个重点。
家长，是一个在音乐教育的铁三角里扮演非常重要的角色。想想看，从一开始，是谁给于一个孩子能够学习音乐的机会？是家长。他们也是孩子在的学习路上最大的支援。然，因为音乐教育的起步，必须照顾很多技术性的内容，所以必须要请音乐老师，提供专业指导，让孩子能够充分掌握学习内容。所以家长的支援越充足，孩子就越能够安心的学习。问题是，大部份家长本身可能没有音乐教育的经验，在支援的过程中就难免会疑惑。这也是我们一直希望家长出席MPA的原因。
MPA大多数的活动都是让家长与孩子的活动， 如唱歌，拍节拍。不要小看这些看似零星的活动 （下图），他们若能在家里可以运用的上，不但和音乐教育拉近了距离，也会为孩子长远的发展取得一定的作用。下图是这一方面的例子：

创作篇
MPA其中一个重点是让孩子能够通过在音乐课所学的东西，来抒发他们的感情。打个比方，一个学画画的孩子，你如何知道他会不会画画？简单，拿张白纸让他画，他画能不能画，就是展现在白纸上。进一步讲，你还能够从孩子的画中，看到他的心情或想法。把这个情况搬到音乐上，我们如何从音乐上知道孩子的心情或想法？答案只有创作。创作，除了刚刚讲的抒发感情，也让孩子知道，他们目前所学的东西，其实，可以马上运用来做某些事情的；而不是学了却不知怎么来用的。说到这，学习乐理就是一个很好的例子。很多孩子对学习乐理感到纳闷和不知所措，但又不得不学。感觉这东西学了没有什么用处，尤其在初学的阶段，乐理的内容是非常技术性的；这和他们平常所听到的流行歌曲，又有一段距离。这种情况下，导致孩子在学习乐理时往往提不起兴趣。
MPA之所以让孩子做创作，就是为了克服以上的问题，让孩子能够表达自己，同时提高对学习乐理的兴趣。我们不期望孩子在第一次创作就有很成熟的作品，但求给他们一个开始的机会。毕竟，罗马城非一日建成，它需要不断的努力耕耘，加上，老师与家长的配合才能开到成效。哪怕有一天，这些孩子可能成为另一个周杰伦或方文山。千里之行，始于足下，让我们看看，这些孩子们的作品吧！
